Position Overview
WCMS is seeking a PRN Occupational Health Nurse III (RN) to join our on-site occupational health team in Lafayette, Indiana, providing 2nd shift (3p–11p) coverage.
This position offers flexible PRN scheduling with a minimum of 1–2 shifts per week. The nurse will independently manage clinical operations, respond to workplace incidents, and support the employer’s safety and health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing assessment and treatment for occupational injuries and illnesses
- Serve as the on-site nurse during assigned 2nd shift coverage
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate advanced care when necessary
- Conduct OSHA-mandated and employer-required health surveillance and screening exams
- Perform drug screens, fit-for-duty, and return-to-work evaluations
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
- Support health education, case management, and employee wellness initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (occupational health, emergency, or acute care preferred)
- Demonstrated triage and emergency response proficiency
- Strong documentation and electronic health record (EHR) skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with site leadership and employees
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial occupational health setting
- Familiarity with OSHA, ADA, and Workers’ Compensation requirements
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: $55 per hour
- Schedule: PRN, 2nd Shift (3p–11p); minimum of 1–2 shifts per week
- Benefits: Not applicable for PRN positions
